What can you say about Beijing, China, that hasn’t already been said? Every street, every alley, every bridge, market stall, shrine, palace, and skyscraper is a National Geographic spread by itself! More ancient than Rome; more cosmopolitan than New York City; more opportunities than any other large city in the world for the certified TESOL teacher. That is the Forbidden City, where over 14 million people swarm and jostle -- many on bicycles -- to earn a living in the shadow of The Great Wall of China.

This is a city that still struggles with environmental issues, but since the 2008 Olympic Games the air quality has gradually been getting better. Part of the reason includes the 200 city buses that now run on propane gas, the largest number of green buses in all of Asia. Luckily, all roads lead into and out of Beijing; so you can easily take a trip by train or bus out into the countryside during the weekend to recuperate in the fresh, bracing air of the North China Plateau.

We won’t kid you -- studying in Beijing, not to mention living there, is a challenge. But the respect you’ll receive as a teacher (this is a land that reveres all teachers, stemming from their respect for Confucius) will be tremendous. Plus the cultural, intellectual, social, and career opportunities in and around Beijing are unparalleled anywhere else in the Far East.

We invite you to come to our center, hard by the Gate of Heavenly Peace, to learn and live amongst the oldest and wisest culture on earth. Some of that culture will rub off on you. We guarantee it.
